Founding and Offices
First meeting of the Harvey Cushing Society (1932)
The AANS National Headquarters first location was at
625 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois and the
staff consisted of the first executive director, a
temporary staff person ("Kelley Girl") and a Selectric
typewriter. Due to a substantial increase in monthly
rental of office space, and to accommodate the
increasing expansion of program and staff, the AANS
purchased a building in Park Ridge, Illinois to serve
as the National Office (1983).
In May of 2000, the office moved to its current location
at 5550 Meadowbrook Drive in rolling Meadows, Illinois
