Spring is officially here once April rolls
around and that means the temperatures
start to get warmer, but there could also
be some precipitation. The average high
temperature in Chicago for the end of
April and early May is 59 degrees and the
average low is 42 degrees. These are the
averages, there are days that can reach into
the 80's and days that dip below 40.
Chicago, Illinois, is located in the Central
Time Zone and daylight saving time will
be in effect.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITES ACT
AANS wishes to take those steps to ensure
that no individual with a disability is
excluded, denied services, segregated or
otherwise treated differently than other
individuals because of the absence of

Accessibility
McCormick Place is committed to
accommodating the needs of individuals

are located in various areas around
McCormick Place, including the exhibit
hall and all the meeting rooms and theaters
are wheelchair accessible. There are
designated parking and services for the
sight and hearing impaired. Wheelchairs
and scooters are available at a fee and can
be reserved prior to your arrival by
contacting Scootaround at (888) 441-7575

com. Daily and weekly rates are available
and include delivery and pickup to and
from your hotel.

American Child Care Service offers services
to children of all ages to all of the major
hotels in the city. The AANS is not
affiliated with and is not endorsing the
services of this company.
Note: Children under the age of 18 are not
permitted in the Exhibit Hall. Please make
arrangements for your child's supervision
prior to visiting the Exhibit Hall.
SPOUSE/GUEST HOSPITALITY SUITE
Registered spouses and guests are invited to
relax, visit with friends, enjoy refreshments
and wait for tour departures in the AANS
Spouse/Guest Hospitality Suite. Meet new
friends and greet longtime acquaintances.
The Spouse/Guest Hospitality Suite will
be located in Java East of the Sheraton
Chicago Hotel and Towers. Complimentary
continental breakfast will be served
each morning from 7:30-10:00 AM.
Beverages will be available throughout
the day. The suite will be open during the
following hours:

GUEST REGISTRATION
Registered spouse/guest attendees will
receive a complimentary ticket to the
Opening Reception, as well as complimentary
use of the Spouse/Guest Hospitality
Suite at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and
Towers, where continental breakfasts and
beverages will be available daily, Sunday
through Thursday. Admittance to the
Spouse/Guest Hospitality Suite is by
spouse/guest badge only.
Children 18 and over may register as guests
at the Spouse/Guest registration fee. This
will allow full participation in the Spouse/
Guest program activities. Children under
18 years of age may register as a child.
Individual tickets for children under 18
years of age will be available for purchase
at the Tour Ticket Desk located in Java
East of the Sheraton Hotel and Towers.
NO SMOKING POLICY
As of January 1, 2008, smoking will not
be allowed in all Illinois restaurants, bars,
nightclubs, work places and all public
buildings. Smoking is prohibited within
15 feet of any entrance.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INFORMATION
Meeting attendees traveling to Chicago,
Illinois, from countries requiring visas,
in addition to a passport, will receive a confirmation
notice after registering. This
notice can serve as documentation to
submit with visa applications. Should you
require a letter of invitation, please call

to request a personalized letter. Be sure to
plan ahead and allow two to three months
for visa processing to ensure that you don't
miss the opportunity to attend the premier
neurosurgical meeting in the United States.
