Opening Ceremonies: The Privilege of Service
Takes place Sunday, April 29, 5-6:30 p.m. at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans. Headline speakers include Lt. General L. Honore, a 37-year army veteran and global authority on leadership and emergency preparedness who became known as the “Category 5 General” for his striking leadership style in coordinating military relief efforts in post-hurricane New Orleans, and Arnie Fielkow, who helped rebuild New Orleans following 2005’s Hurricane Katrina by introducing legislation to improve education, economic development, public safety and youth recreation.
