AANS IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE A NEW DIMENSION IN THE COLLECTION OF NEUROSURGICAL DATA

The need to advance the neurosurgical body of knowledge through objective quality measurement and reporting programs has never been greater. As a result, the AANS has formed NeuroPoint Alliance (NPA); a unique organization that focuses on the development of data management and related services in neurosurgical clinical and outcomes research and measurement.

NPA's services are focused on several areas:

  • Data collection for the American Board of Neurological Surgeons (Maintenance of Certification and Neurolog)
  • Pay for Performance programs (such as the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative)
  • Registries and clinical trials (including recruiting investigators and data management) and
  • Opinion research (including surveys, expert panels and speakers)

Neurosurgeon Participation

npaNeuroPoint Alliance provides a convenient and reliable means for both private practice and academic neurosurgeons across the United States and abroad to participate in a variety of clinical research opportunities.

There is tremendous value for the specialty and for the neurosurgical community in conducting clinical research. As a member of AANS, NPA offers an avenue for neurosurgeons to serve as investigators, regardless of the type of practice they are involved in, and also provides compensation for your time.

The NPA is now developing investigative panels, a network of neurosurgeons who want to participate in various data collection, quality improvement and clinical research activities. Your participation can range from participating in occasional surveys to serving as an expert consultant or investigator for a clinical trial. After completing an initial profile, each time a survey, study or other opportunity matches your screening requirements, you will receive an e-mail describing the project’s purpose, what will be required and how much compensation you will receive for your participation.

Corporate, Government and Academic Organizations

npaAs the trusted leader that fosters strong connections with its members, the AANS can leverage its existing relationships to provide services with the credibility of board-certified neurosurgeons behind it. AANS’ developed talent of expert neurosurgeons provides the highest quality independent research and timely data.

NPA's services are focused on three areas of data collection: ABNS MOC and Pay for Performance programs, observational studies such as registries and opinion research (including surveys, expert panels and speakers) and clinical trials (including recruiting investigators and managing data). Through its collaborative network, NPA provides the infrastructure to deliver unbiased expert research, patient registries and clinical trials.

Through a strategic partnership with Outcome, a market leader in patient registries, peri- and post-approval studies, and integrated technologies for evaluating outcomes, NPA has the capability to design, implement and manage some of the world's largest and most recognized studies. This key partnership plays a critical role in providing objective, quality measurement research, patient registries and reporting programs. In fact, the critical importance of this partnership is magnified by the fact that currently there is no organization better positioned to provide these unique strategies and solutions for the neurosurgical community.

NPA will serve the clinical research marketplace with quality reporting. It is the only company uniquely positioned to offer the board-certified physician perspective, important in providing critical independent reviews, which contributes to building organizational reporting confidence and success.
