Van Wagenen Lecture: Jumpstarting Your Career in Neurosurgery

L. Dade Lunsford, MD, FAANS, is the Lars Leksell Professor as well as distinguished professor at the department of neurological surgery of the University of Pittsburgh. He is also director of the Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) where he specializes in stereotactic surgery, radiosurgery and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Lunsford currently chairs the UPMC Health System Technology and Innovative Practice committee and co-chairs the UPMC Brain Mapping (MEG) Center. In 2016, he received the AANS Cushing Award for Technical Excellence and Innovation in Neurosurgery. He is the author or co-author of over 640 peer reviewed articles and 285 book chapters as well as the editor or co-editor of 13 books.
