How do I submit an abstract?
Abstracts may be submitted beginning Saturday, January 5, 2008 by logging into the WFNS Abstract Center.

Who do I contact for technical assistance when submitting an abstract?

How do I obtain the CD of the scientific oral and electronic poster presentations?
A scientific program CD including the oral and electronic poster presentations will be distributed to all medical attendees at the time of registration.

How many CME hours will I earn by attending the XIV World Congress?
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the AANS and the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies. The AANS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The AANS designates this educational activity for a maximum 40.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

How do I get CME credit?
Attendees who participate in the XIV World Congress meeting may self report CME credit for the programs they attend by going online to MyAANS. International attendees who participate in the XIV World Congress meeting are eligible to receive a certificate of participation.

How do I get a certificate to confirm attendance for my professional organization?
Certificates of attendance for the XIV World Congress meeting are available upon request and may be obtained at the Registration Desk onsite.

How do I become an exhibitor at the XIV World Congress?
Companies interested in exhibiting at the XIV World Congress meeting may access the application located in the Exhibitor’s Corner at
www.MyAANS.org.  A Login and password are required.

How do I obtain a login and password to the Exhibitor’s Corner?
Returning users of the Exhibitor’s Corner may access this area without reregistering.  New users may establish their login and password by clicking on the "Register" tab and completing the required data fields.

What is the cost to exhibit at the XIV World Congress?
Booth prices range from $3,100 (USD) for a 10' x 10' linear booth to $3,300 (USD) for a 10' x 10' corner booth.  Island booths are priced at $34 (USD) per square foot.  Booth structures with multiple levels will be charged exhibit rental fees for subsequent levels at a rate of $17.00 per square foot, based upon the dimensions of the upper level(s).

Where do I find the Invitation letter and other visa information?
The invitation letter is included in the Program and Destination Highlights brochure.  In addition, helpful links to many consulates and embassies are available.  The letter and information on consulates and embassies may be found by clicking: www.AANS.org/wfns2009/visa_info.asp.

What advertising opportunities are available?
Many pre-show, onsite and post-show opportunities exist to promote your company’s products and services including advance promotions, advertising in the meeting program guides, hotel door drop and more.  For a full description of advertising opportunities, visit www.aans.org/wfns2009/sponsorship_info.asp.

What are your sponsorship/marketing opportunities for exhibitors?
Many sponsorship/marketing opportunities exist for exhibitors including educational sponsorships, sponsorships of social functions and creative marketing opportunities.  Visit

Do you have press registration?  How do I register?
The WFNS welcomes professional editorial staff (including photographers and camera crews) of print, online, and broadcast media to attend the XIV World Congress meeting on a complimentary basis.  Other publication staff (non-editorial personnel such as publishers, advertising directors, and advertising representatives) may attend the XIV World Congress meeting only if exhibiting and must pay all related fees.

Members of the media interested and eligible to obtain press registration should contact the Department of Communications.  Please contact Betsy Van Die at bvd@aans.org to register.

How do I register for the meeting?
Attendees may register for the XIV World Congress by submitting the appropriate registration form. Please be sure to check the web site http://www.aans.org/wfns2009 for details as they become available. 

What is your cancellation policy?
Requests for cancellation of meeting registration must be received in writing no later than July 22, 2009 in order to receive a full refund less a $50 processing fee.  Requests for cancellation received between July 23 and August 28, 2009 will be charged a $100 processing fee.  No refunds will be made after August 28, 2009.  Cancellation requests may be e-mailed to wfns2009@cteusa.com.  Requests may also be mailed to: WFNS Registration Department, c/o Conference Technology Enhancements, PO Box 2686, Des Plaines, IL 60018 USA.

How do I make a hotel reservation?
Hotel reservations can only be made through the WFNS Housing Bureau.  Forms will be made available in October 2008.

How do I obtain my badge?
Badges will be made available at the time attendees pick up their registration onsite.  Badges are required for entrance into all XIV World Congress functions.
