NEUROSURGERY RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FOUNDATION (NREF)
The NREF has continued to ensure the viability and expansion of the field of neurological surgery, based on fundamental research in the basic sciences and clinical enterprises pertinent to neurosurgery. Through support by the neurosurgical community, the NREF has stimulated learning by neurosurgeons and enhanced educational opportunities throughout their careers. Over the past 26 years, the Foundation has established two grant programs to fulfill this need. The Research Fellowship provides research training for neurosurgeons who are preparing to dedicate their futures to the research and application of new scientific knowledge.
The Research Fellowship is a two-year grant for $70,000 or a one-year grant of $40,000. The one year Young Clinician Investigator Award (YCI) is a $40,000 grant, which provides young faculty members funding for pilot studies, which enables them to develop preliminary data to support applications for more permanent funding. Visit the AANS Resource Center, Exhibit Hall booth #1120 for more information on how you can support the NREF or pick up information on the various grants and fellowships available. Or visit the Registration area and register your support for the NREF when you pick up your badge and other meeting materials. Thank you in advance for your support
