Practice Evaluation and Negotiation

OVERVIEW:
This presentation provides information to young neurosurgeons on how to begin developing a plan for financial investments and protecting their assets.  The presentation covers how to establish financial priorities, types of investments, strategies for allocating income into various investments, and setting up legal entities to protect personal or practice assets.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  • Describe why neurosurgeons may be unique with regard to their investment needs
  • Establish investment priorities and goals
  • Recognize a variety of investment options and the importance of asset allocation
  • Describe several options for protecting personal or practice assets
  • • Identify who can help with investment planning and asset protection and how much it will cost
