Mobile Initiatives
The AANS changed the landscape of medical meetings during the 2010 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia. To support our first meeting conducted via the iPod touch®, the AANS created a variety of content within a mobile meeting application, complete with program guides, floor maps, exhibitor listings and social venues. Building on the success and positive feedback over the past two years, the AANS has expanded its mobile initiatives further by developing a more robust mobile membership app with year-round applicability. We have also made a variety of multimedia content available free on iTunes U and YouTube.
AANS Mobile Membership App
The year-round membership app gives members access to a wide range of updated vital information, data and news specifically designed to benefit those involved in today’s ever changing world of neurosurgery. Anyone with an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad can download the app.
AANS Meeting Application
Program guides, exhibitor listings, social venues, and more have all been included on this free annual scientific meeting application. Beginning with the 2012 Annual Scientific Meeting, the meeting app will be cross-platform, viewable from an Apple device such as an iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, as well as Android devices and Blackberry.
AANS on iTunes U
AANS on iTunes U provides audio and video podcasts of interest to the neurosurgical community and the general public. Not only is access free of charge, it is also on-demand, allowing users to view content when and where it best fits their schedule.
AANS YouTube Channel
Online access to free educational content including clinical demonstrations and lectures in neurosurgical medicine is now available on the most popular video platform in the world.
