AANS offers a media training course during the AANS Annual Meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn how to best present their message when talking to the media . Journalists nationwide are turning to neurosurgeons now more than ever to comment on issues including medical liability reform, surgery for conjoined twins, the effects of roller coasters on the brain and even treatment options for low back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, epilepsy, hydrocephalus and more. A seasoned media trainer will walk AANS residents and neurosurgeon members through a two-hour media training session offering talking points and common tips for working with the media. Participants will learn how to develop, tailor and deliver their message to an audience just in time for their next print, radio or television interview.
