Use of Fetal Tissue for Human Transplantation

Evidence now exists from careful experimental studies in animals which suggests that the transplantation of human fetal tissue into the brain may benefit patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and perhaps other neurologic diseases.

Recognizing this, The American Association of Neurological Surgeons supports and encourages further research in this important area. Such studies must consist of carefully designed experimental protocols that adhere to well-established principles and procedures for human investigation.
