Qualify for the ABNS Continuous Certification with American Spine Registry Participation
Participants of the American Spine Registry (ASR), a collaborative effort between the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), have many opportunities to reuse their data, including meeting requirements for quality certification programs, federal quality initiatives and insurer’s distinction programs. ASR participation satisfies Part IV of the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) Continuous Certification (CC). Part IV focuses on meaningful participation in a Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conference. Surgeons who do not have access to or cannot attend an M&M Conference can attest that they participate in ASR to satisfy this requirement. ASR also provides Surgeon Dashboards that allow surgeons to compare their procedures to national benchmarks. The dashboards include “Print Participation Letter” and “Print Dashboard” options that make qualifying for quality initiatives, like the ABNS CC, an easier process.
