Hotel Discount Information
Created April 17; Updated April 21 – For Information Only
Many hotels are making rooms available for essential medical personal at discounted rates. What follows is a list of the information we have been able to gather. It includes programs from Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton. We recommend that wherever you call to book a room you identify yourself and ask if there are any programs applicable to your situation.
Book with the property directly or via Hyatt.com (using a special offer code “ESSENT”).
Program Details: Availability for room reservations and this rate plan is limited to essential personnel and travelers who fall under the defined list of items for Essential travelers:
- Healthcare professionals
- First Responders
- National Guard members, Law Enforcement
- State or Federal employees
- Patients and patients’ families
- Individuals who, for any reason, are temporarily unable to reside in their home
As a reminder, Hyatt hotels are not designed or equipped to operate as a medical facility, nor are hotel colleagues trained to provide medical services. To the degree a hotel is to be used to provide any medical services to house guests who are ill, the hotel will need to consider a variety of issues including but not limited to: who will provide the services, who will provide security, proper safety training, insurance limitations, licensing requirements, indemnity, return of the premises and future hotel use. To the degree a hotel is not being asked to provide medical services but is being asked or agreeing to provide rooms or services that differ from normal hotel operations, such as for a first responder, a stranded traveler or a displaced person, the same considerations may apply, and a hotel may consider developing a separate occupancy, lease or services agreement.
Marriott International invites first responders and support staff providing medical, relief and support services to book designated hotels nationwide as a part of a community caregivers program. This will provide health care and relief professionals, and those supporting them, a place to stay in close proximity to hospitals and government buildings as they aid in COVID-19 response efforts.
A “Community Caregivers Rate” has been established to expedite the booking process for health care and relief professionals and support staff. This rate will be available from March 26 through June 30, 2020, at participating hotels.
