CME Accreditation

The AANS achieves excellence in continuing medical education (CME) through educational activities built on evidence-based medicine and adult learning principles. The AANS CME program is designed for national and international general neurosurgeons, neurosurgical specialists, residents, fellows and other neurosurgical health professionals.

Activities sponsored by AANS are concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders that affect the entire nervous system, including the spinal column, spinal cord, brain and peripheral nerves. The activities are intended to enhance physician and other health care professionals' competence and neurosurgical skills for purposes of enhanced patient care through live activities, enduring materials, online CME, manuscript review for journals and joint providership activities with AANS constituencies.

Fellow (FAANS), Provisional and Affiliate members are required to document at least 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ each calendar year (January 1 - December 31).
