Opening Reception

USS Midway Museum | Sunday, April 14 | 7-9 p.m.

The USS Midway Museum is a maritime museum located in downtown San Diego. It is home to the USS Midway, America’s longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Approximately 200,000 sailors served aboard the carrier, known for several naval aviation breakthroughs, as well as several humanitarian missions. It was the only carrier to serve the entire length of the Cold War and beyond.

NEW! Young Neurosurgeons Evening at the San Diego Zoo

Monday, April 15 | 6:30-9 p.m.

In an evening designed for the entire family, attendees will be able to view the Elephant Odyssey area of the world-renowned San Diego Zoo. In addition to a dinner buffet, attendees will be able to see the elephants' living quarters up close and personal as well as hear zoo keepers give presentations on exotic animals. Shuttle buses to and from the headquarters hotel will be provided. Tickets are available for $25.

History Section Dinner

Monday, April 15 | 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Join us for the 2019 annual AANS Section on the History of Neurological Surgery Dinner. This event will take place at The Prado at Balboa Park and will include cocktails, dinner and a presentation by the Setti S. Rengachary, MD, Memorial Lecturer, Vice Admiral Harold Koenig, MD (USN-Ret.). The AANS Section on the History of Neurological Surgery consists of AANS members dedicated to documenting, discussing and preserving the history of neurological surgery. All attendees/guests must reserve a ticket in advance. Tickets are $160 per person.

International Reception

Oxford Social Club | Monday, April 15 | 8-9:30 p.m.

Join leaders from the AANS and international neurosurgical organizations, along with special dignitaries, at the Oxford Social Club for the 2019 AANS International Reception. Enjoy an evening of conversation, refreshments and hors d'oeuvres at this avant-garde nightclub, located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.

All attendees/guests must reserve a ticket in advance. Tickets are complimentary for International Attendees and $25 for U.S. or Canadian Attendees.
