  1. Full-time officers in the United States uniformed services with proof of service and current membership with the AANS. The AANS offers Military Neurosurgeon Members complimentary housing at one of the official AANS hotels, if he or she is eligible to accept it. If the offer can be accepted, contact the AANS Meetings Department at 847.378.0500 or jmj@aans.org to reserve your complimentary housing. You must be registered for the 2020 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting.

  2. A neurosurgeon who is not a member of the AANS, non-neurosurgeons, DOs or PhDs. A photocopy of the registrant's current medical license is required.

  3. All non-member residents and fellows currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited training program and the Residency Review Committee for Neurosurgery are required to provide a letter of recommendation from the training program director.

  4. Advanced practice providers (APPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), nurses and physician assistants (PAs) must upload medical credentials. PAs and NPs must provide a copy of their medical credentials.

  5. Office staff and surgical technicians qualify for this category. A letter on practice letterhead noting the registrant’s role within the practice is required.

  6. Every medical student non-member must include a photocopy of their current medical student ID card.

  7. Every individual applying for the World Bank Designated Countries registration rate must provide a photocopy of his/her passport.

  8. This category encompasses writers and editors who represent for-profit publications that are circulated among the medical device industry and the business community. Attendance at the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting is to network and highlight the activities of device or pharmaceutical companies. Business, medical device and manufacturing publications that do not contain editorial content related to the scientific program (research) presented at the meeting fall into the category of “commercial press” publications. In addition, to quality for this registration category, the registrant must be on the editorial staff of the publication represented. Sales or marketing personnel do not qualify.

  9. Non-marketing industry personnel, including members of the medical, regulatory affairs, education community or research and development scientists may qualify. A letter of verification from the registrant on company letterhead, providing corporate affiliation and role is required at the time of registration. Verification materials are subject to AANS approval prior to registration processing and confirmation.

  10. Personnel involved in analyzing financial information to forecast business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions in the neurosurgery discipline may qualify for this category. A letter of verification from the registrant on company letterhead, providing corporate affiliation and role is required at the time of registration. Verification materials are subject to AANS approval prior to registration processing and confirmation.

Guest Registration

A medical attendee can bring one guest to the meeting. Guests cannot earn CME credits nor can they register in advance for Breakfast Seminars, Practical Clinics or other ticketed courses. Presenters of any kind are not eligible to register as a guest.

Cancellations and Refunds

Requests for cancellation of meeting and guest registrations and all ticketed events must be received in writing at the AANS no later than March 30, 2020, in order to receive a full refund less a $50 processing fee.

Requests for cancellation received between March 31, 2020, and April 15, 2020, will be charged a $100 processing fee.

No refunds will be made on or after April 16, 2020.
