AANS and CNS Lead Effort Cautioning Congress About Surprise Medical Bills Legislation

On July 28, the AANS and the CNS joined more than 100 state and national medical societies in sending a letter to Congress reiterating that while “it is critical to protect patients from surprise medical bills … now is not the time to adopt divisive surprise billing legislation.” The letter restates organized medicine’s principles for surprise medical bills and urges Congress to address the issue separately from COVID-19 relief legislation.
