AANS RIGHT OF ENTRY PROTOCOL FOR the AANS 2022 ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING

A core mission of the AANS is to stimulate learning by neurosurgeons and to enhance educational opportunities for neurosurgeons throughout their careers. In furtherance of this mission, the AANS is holding the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia. The 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting will include plenary sessions, live in-person courses and a number of other educational opportunities for residents, neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals to assess and improve upon their skillsets.

The AANS is committed to the health and wellbeing of all members, faculty, exhibitors, staff and guests attending the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting. Accordingly, the AANS has adopted a "Vaccination Required" approach for all attendees in order to gain access to the 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting and/or any symposium or other event being held in conjunction with the meeting.

When registering for the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, all members, faculty, exhibitors, staff members and guests will be asked to attest that they are fully vaccinated.

For the purposes of right to entry into the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting and/or any symposium or other event being held in conjunction with the meeting, a person is considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Accepted vaccines for purposes of this "Vaccination Required" protocol are as follows:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech
  • Moderna
  • Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen
  • AstraZeneca-Oxford
  • Covishield
  • Sinopharm
  • Sinovac

If a member, faculty member, exhibitor, staff member or guest does not meet these requirements, he or she is not considered fully vaccinated and will NOT be permitted to enter the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting and/or any symposium or other event being held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. All attendees at the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting are required to comply with applicable masking policies in effect at the Philadelphia Convention Center and the hotels contracted by the AANS for lodging at the meeting. Additionally, the AANS recommends that all attendees comply with travel guidelines issued by the CDC when traveling to the 2022 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting.
