Be a Part of the Revolution
in AANS Neurosurgical Education!

Abstract Center Is Open
Cushing Orator
The AANS has offered its members innovative, technologically advanced education for many years. From the most diverse faculty, to a wide array of exhibitors and compelling lectures, the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting has established itself at the forefront of neurosurgical education.

Thomas A. Marshall
AANS Executive Director

On behalf of the volunteer physician leaders and the employees of AANS, I am very excited to invite you to participate in what will truly be a historic week in the 78-year history of your association.

If you have not yet viewed AANS President Troy Tippett's video on the AANS home page (http://www.AANS.org), I invite you to click on it now to see his introduction of the "revolutionary" change that AANS members will be offered next May 1 - 5 in Philadelphia.

That AANS Annual Scientific Meeting will be the first completely paperless meeting conducted by AANS in its history. In place of the reams of paper and printed materials that AANS member attendees have received in the past at the Registration desks and throughout the meeting, they will be given an iPod touch, Apple Inc's portable media player, personal digital assistant, and Wi-Fi mobile platform. With this device, you will be able to access and integrate every aspect of the Philadelphia Annual Meeting, from the scientific education to social events, plenary lectures, seminars, exhibitors, maps - even communicate with other meeting attendees. And when the meeting ends, your iPod touch packs in your briefcase and goes home with you – it's yours to keep.

If you want to get a head start in learning more about the iPod touch, please follow the links below which will take you to Apple's iPod touch web pages. There you can view the iPod touch User Manual, a video guided tour of the iPod touch, and other support information for the device.

We look forward to you joining us at what will be a truly "revolutionary" event in Philadelphia!

Now, you can participate in the most innovative educational meeting in your association's history – the 2010 AANS Paperless Annual Meeting, with content delivered and accessible by the iPod touch, Apple's innovative wireless mobile platform that is as easy to use as touching your finger to its screen and tapping an icon.

AANS member registrants will be given an iPod touch device at this meeting, which will be their window to some of the highest quality neurosurgical education available. Using this intuitive yet powerful device, you will be able to access literally with the touch of your finger program guides; calendars of events; exhibitor listings; speaker information; social venues; in short, every document you need for this educational experience – but without the paper!

But the benefits of using the iPod touch for the 2010 AANS Philadelphia Annual Meeting go far beyond merely eliminating paper. Accessing the meeting with this versatile device, you will be able to see at a glance what events are occurring at any given moment during the meeting, interact in real time with speakers and panelists using its audience response capabilities, communicate with other attendees, access convention hall maps and exhibitor hall directories, and much more.

At the Philadelphia meeting, networking with exhibitors will be more interactive than ever. With the touch of an exhibitor's icon on your iPod Touch, you will be able to view company websites, watch videos that illustrate a particular vendor’s product lines and meeting specials, and guarantee your time spent with the meeting’s exhibitors is more constructive, informative, and more valuable than ever before.

Don't miss this chance to be part of the AANS Revolution – the first paperless, wireless Annual Scientific Meeting in AANS history! "Early Bird"; meeting and housing registration opens on November 2, 2009.

And be sure to check back here on this 2010 Paperless Philadelphia Annual Meeting page often. We will be frequently adding more information about this truly unprecedented meeting by the AANS. In the weeks ahead, this page will feature instructional iPod touch tutorials, podcasts and video messages about the meeting, program previews, and registration information – all will be frequently updated here from now through the meeting that begins next May 1.

In the meantime, if you want to learn more about the iPod touch that will be your gateway to participating in this first-ever wireless AANS meeting, please visit the Apple iPod touch website to watch tutorial videos and access its latest user manual.
