On April 16, Brian R. Gantwerker, MD, FAANS, was quoted in a Becker’s Spine Review article titled “The CMS changes spine surgeons want now.” In the article, Dr. Gantwerker states, “CMS should increase reimbursement for spine procedures. These operations are technically difficult and involve a lot of postoperative, unreimbursed care.” He added that Medicare reimbursements have been going down for 20+ years.
