Shelly D. Timmons Leadership Award Call for Applications
Applications for the inaugural Shelly D. Timmons Leadership Award are being accepted through the NREF.
The Shelly D. Timmons Honor Your Mentor (HYM) Fund was established to support leadership development for all young neurosurgeons. The recipient of this award has the opportunity to develop leadership skills through participation in mentoring sessions with Dr. Timmons by joining her at an AANS or other meeting.
To apply, individuals must be either be a physician who has been accepted into, or who is currently in, an approved residency training program in neurological surgery; or a neurosurgeon, no more than two years from having completed their neurosurgical residency training and/or clinical fellowship, who is full-time faculty in a teaching institution or employed in private practice in the U.S., Canada or Mexico.
Membership in the AANS/CNS Section on Women in Neurosurgery is encouraged, but not mandatory. Visit the Timmons HYM Fund website to download the application.
The application deadline is Monday, February 15, 2021, with award notification scheduled for spring 2021.
