New Grant Program from CV Section

As a premier funder of neurosurgical studies, the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) is pleased to introduce a new program – the AANS/CNS Cerebrovascular Section Research Grant.

The objective of the grant from the AANS/CNS Cerebrovascular Section is to provide sustained research startup funding for early-stage academic neurosurgeon-scientists in the field of cerebrovascular disease.

Applicants must be board-eligible cerebrovascular and/or endovascular fellowship-trained neurosurgeons, in the first three (3) years of full-time faculty position at the start of the funding period. Applicants must be active members in good standing of the AANS/CNS Cerebrovascular Section (“CV Section”). Fellows may apply in the final year of fellowship, as long as a faculty position is confirmed prior to the start of the funding period. The faculty position must be at a teaching institution in North America.

Applications for the 2022 AANS/CNS Cerebrovascular Section Research Grant will open on Saturday, January 1, 2022 through the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) Online Grant Portal.

The deadline to submit an application is 11:59pm on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Awardees will be announced in July 2022.

Applicants are encouraged to review the Application Guidelines, Instructions and FAQs for information on policies and procedures prior to completing the application.
