Grants, Fellowships and Awards
A number of grants, fellowships and awards are available to residents, fellows and medical students pursuing a career in neurosurgical research and/or practice.
To support these non-governmental sources of research funding, consider a contribution to the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF).
Fellowships in the amount of $2,500 are awarded to medical students who wish to spend a summer working in a neurosurgical laboratory, mentored by a neurosurgical investigator sponsor who is an AANS member.
This award provides up to $40,000 to support junior faculty who are pursuing careers as clinical investigators and who are no more than two years removed from training.
Surgeons Ages 30-60
This scholarship is open to members in good standing of both the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and AANS, subsidizing a course in health policy management.
The winner will be invited to give a 15-minute presentation at the Military Sub-committee meeting.
